Battery drain and on-switch failure

[ Edited ]

I have had a HERO for a few months and the battery keeps having problems. Sometimes it just drains when the camera is turned off. I just charged for several hours so I'm sure it was at 100%, but 15 minutes after unplugging, the camera was very hot to the touch and the battery had dropped to 92%.

Also, the on-off switch sometimes fails to work. It always works again after I pop out the battery.

Having searched this site, I see advice for bad batteries saying to update the firmware, but my firmware appears to be up to date.

Any thoughts?

Re: Battery drain and on-switch failure

Thank you Jay. I saw that mentioned here, but I also see that my camera already has HERO (2018) v01.00, which is also the latest update. Should I refresh the firmware all the same?
