I understand the subject and the camera should not move to be able to properly use the feature, however isn’t it supposed to be automatically off in case of motion in the frame or the camera?

Hello @mauror55,
The Auto-HDR is manually set and this feature doe snot automatically turn off when the camera detects movement, or when the camera is moving. If you would like to continue using the HDR feature, mounting the camera on a stable support will provide the best results.
Bets regards,
Marius

Good question, @mauror55. Glad to hear back from you. As capturing RAW photos yields higher quality photos, you can use it over HDR. The RAW mode is recommended if you would like to have more flexibility in editing or post-processing your GoPro media with imaging techniques.
A note to remember though: To utilize your RAW photos and audio files, insert your microSD card into an SD card adapter/reader and locate the files with your computer’s file explorer.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Marius
