I'm really sad - GoPro replaced my Hero5 becuase of water on the front display. The replacement camera came, and now I can't get the side door opened to charge it. I understnd it needs to be tight, but this is crazy. My original camera's side door (for charging) was really hard to open too, but nothing like this.

I may have the same problem.
I just got this new camera Hero5 Black and started using it. This is my first GoPro camera.
The USB compartment is extremely hard to open. Elsewhere on this forum I read that the native waterproofing of the camera makes it harder to open in other models. That would not be a good explanation for this specific problem. The battery compartment is much much easier to open and seems NORMAL for a waterproofed compartment. The USB compartment is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to open, I am having to meddle with it for for several minutes sometimes and have injured my thumb fingernail trying to open. It is THAT hard to open. It is nowhere near as easy as some of the videos posted here on this forum (for instance one where the video shows the replacement or repositioning of the USB compartment door after completely removing it).
It appears others do have this problem - did you find a trick to opening it easily?
To note again - the battery compatment is easy to open.. I have no problem with it, It is only the USB compartment that is hard to open. The battery drains so fast on this Hero5 that I don't know whether it is normal or not as this is my first GoPro device and so I am having to open this door more times than I expected to. Turning the GPS and Wifi off helps conserve battery to some extent.
