8 black frozen [ New ]

I just purchased an 8 Black and my first time having it turned on it froze on me.. is this what I can expect for quality from my new camera?

No, the GoPro Hero 8 seems to be very reliable.

Did you format your SD card in the camera before using it?

I haven’t even bought an SD card yet, I literally turned it on to try it out, set it down for a few minutes then when I picked it up it was completely frozen and wouldn’t turn off or anything, I had to wait for the battery to die for it to power down...

the Mode on has a reboot, like yourphone has one,   you simply press Mode for a minimum of 10 seconds, let it go for 13 seconds. then let go within a few seconds it shuts down,

   the gopro should not freeze out of the box,  you can return for a new one if   purchased from a store, or back to the On-line site.
