I manage a broadcast facility where we use the HDMI output of GoPros in a live situation via the HDMI output.
On previous cameras we were able to make the cameras output 720P but on the Hero 6 it appears that the output is locked to 1080P? Can we expect a firmware update that will allow live 720P use? The 1080 output is problematic on some professional equipment.

Thank you for looking into it.
720P 59.94 FPS is critical to our live sports productions to ensure smooth motion and compatibility with our production gear. I'd be happy to follow up with anyone from the team if they are interested.
The Hero6 picture is fabulous by the way, and we are really anxious to get these cameras out into production!

Hi @ryanv12566, we did attempt to use the Hero6 in a live basketball game over the weekend, and unfortunately got the results we anticipated... stuttery "strobe" effect, likely due to the frame rate being pushed out of the camera.
We will have to revert to Hero5 for now, but if we get an opportunity to created an option for 720P/59.94 out of the HDMI port, it will be greatly appreciated.

If you record at 720 on the camera the output switches when recording. I've also noticed that when the camera is set to 2.7k or 4k the hdmi outputs 720p50, although at 1080 and 1440 it outputs 1080p50 when recording.
