[ New ]I'm experiencing the same issue. The date/time is accurate on my GoPro (Hero 4 Silver w/ 5.0 firmware). I shot a bunch of footage over the last couple days, but when I go to import the date for every file is same time on 1/1/1970. I went through the manual firmware update (successful), tried again to import footage, and experienced same issue...

[ New ]Same issue here on Hero 7 Black with latest firmware. Date indicates correct on camera but my Mac imports as 1970-01-01.

[ New ]Same here, I checked the media too, but luckily all movies and photographs have the correct time on the files themselves (and probably in the exif data too) so theoretically it should be possible after an update to move them into the right folder
see screenshot, file is located under 1970-01-01 but has the right dates

[ New ]The problem remain, unbeleavable! Just bought a new 7, firmware update was authomatic, after have done the suggested manual update, and the problem remain.

[ New ]I did a support request, provided all the info 3 TIMES!!! (because of these lazy to handle the conversation history) and as a result, after 1 month they sent me an email, requesting do the same procedure...
GoPro, that the only I can tell to your support team. Just wasted the time, and seems the issue will not be solved
